Find Your Place. Make Your Mark.
If you haven't found your place, this is the year to do so. We have a myriad of opportunities for any schedule. If you'd like to learn more, a PTO representative would be happy to speak with you about the possibilities. Email us at email@example.com.
In the Classroom
Always check with your child's teacher regarding what they may need throughout the year. The needs vary with different grades and from teacher to teacher, but a few examples include: making copies, door decorations, replenishing classroom supplies, working with the kids, being a field trip chaperone, decorating bulletin boards, etc.
Be on the look-out for correspondences from your Room Parent who will be coordinating these activites.
Pro-tip: Our purpose is to serve all our students, there is no set rule you only have to volunteer for your child's classroom...or even grade ;)
Around the School
The Library is an excellent place to volunteer. Kids are constantly flowing in and out of the library checking in and checking out books. The librarians are busy helping our kids, so you could lend a helping hand in reshelving the books.
Many teachers need extra help around Open House preparing to showcase the student's work. Be ready to ehlp them prepare!
Lunch and recess duties
Did you know our teachers only get about a 20 minute lunch. They divide lunch and recess duties, which never leaves them time to eat as a team. We try to provide at least one day a month when our teachers can eat lunch together and maybe even get a 45 minute lunch!
Events throughout the year
You can find a list of events to be hosted by the PTO this year on the "Year at a Glance" page. Please be sure to step-up and volunteer for at least one of these. Without volunteers, none of these events are possible.
The school also hosts a number of events such as the Book Fairs in the Fall and Spring, and Field Day, which require volunteer.
We are always looking for parents to serve on the PTO Exec Board or as a Committee Chair. It is an excellent opportunity to take a leadership position and help create initiatives and fun for all of our kids and their families.
